Ashtanga RETREAT in Mallorca

Ashtanga Retreat in Mallorca, Spain

June 7th - 14th, 2025

(book with Balearic Retreats)

Adam is delighted to be teaching in Mallorca hosted by the amazing team led by Pilar and Jimmy, we are truly looking forward to welcoming you and experiencing their beloved and magical island together.

A Fresh Look at Traditional Ashtanga

Mysore traditional practice in the early days was open to all levels of students, even weak and sick, and not so concerned with rules. It was inclusive before the term was used about yoga.

This practice is not about the postures themselves, but rather, what lies behind them, the asanas hold an inner technique that is available to everyone. It is to do with breath and bandha along with performing the posture in a way that feels comfortable and balanced for your body. This harnesses the incredible power of diaphragmatic breathing at the centre of this practice. Ultimately it has to do with an approach to practice and the deepening understanding that, through the posture, you find a way to come back to yourself in an increasingly deep and meaningful way.

Adam’s aim is that you can experience this during the retreat and continue to develop when you return home.

You can expect:

  • A friendly and inclusive group with a range of ages and abilities.
  • To make discoveries in your practice.
  • Delicious and nutritious meals.
  • To discover the beauty of Mallorca
  • To make new friends and engage with a support group.
  • Lots of laughs.
  • To return with renewed enthusiasm and energy for your practice.

Adam has been practising yoga since 1999 and teaching since 2004. He is one of only a few students to have completed the Advanced A series in Mysore with Sharathji and received Level 2 Authorisation in 2012.

Equally at home teaching all levels, he gives all students attention and interest. He is democratic in his approach and kind and believes that the practice should not feel like a test. Coming from an academic background in philosophy and a professional one as a chef, he is knowledgeable, practical, and relatable in his approach. Many consider him humorous too.

Adam and his wife Theresa run the online yoga platform Keen on Yoga and he hosts the Keen on Yoga Podcast & YouTube channel, interviewing many of the world's most renowned Ashtanga teachers and philosophical academics.
